Children's ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery began as an independent private practice, founded in 2001 by Dr. James Sidman as the first and only single specialty ENT practice in the Twin Cities devoted exclusively to pediatric otolaryngology, facial plastic, and reconstructive surgery. In 2012, we agreed to be acquired by Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota in order to improve coordination of care and access to all the medical services provided by the largest Children's Hospital system in Minnesota.

Otolaryngology (commonly referred to as “ENT”) is the field of medicine dedicated to the medical and surgical treatment of conditions that affect the head and neck regions of our bodies including the Ears, Nose, and Throat. The field of otolaryngology also includes plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face and neck.

In today's world, pediatric otolaryngologists receive additional training above and beyond the 5 years of training required to become a general ENT practitioner. This extra training focuses on the medical and surgical management of problems unique to infants, children, and adolescents. All of the physicians at Children's ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery have this additional training and experience.

Many of the disorders that affect the head and neck are only seen in children. Other conditions may be treated quite differently in a child compared to an adult. At Children's ENT and Facial Plastic Surgery, our focus is exclusively on the treatment of children and adolescents.

We treat patients from all around the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, their surrounding metro areas, and greater Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
