
Dr. Rimell has been a member of the University of Minnesota's ENT Department since 1995, and helped Dr. Sidman found Pediatric ENT Associates in 2001. As Associate Professor of Pediatric Otolaryngology, his interests lie in the areas of cochlear implants, complex airway reconstruction, and pediatric tumor surgery of the head and neck.
After graduating from the University of Missouri (Phi Beta Kappa), Dr. Rimell went on to attend the Chicago Medical School, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. While completing Otolaryngology training at the University of Minnesota, he won several Resident Research Awards. Dr. Rimell also did a fellowship year in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh (University of Pittsburgh), and worked there as a Clinical Instructor for one year before joining the University of Minnesota ENT Department.
Dr. Rimell has given courses and lectures in Pediatric Otolaryngology across the country, and has published numerous articles. An author of several book chapters, he contributed to Dr. Charles Bluestone's definitive text, Pediatric Otolaryngology. Dr. Rimell is the Director of Residency Training for the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota. In addition to his ongoing residency training work, he is involved in various aspects of clinical research, oversees ENT resident application and interviewing, and sits on several national committees.
